What does it look like?

With both online and in-person tutoring I can use the curriculum the student is already using or I can use my own materials to help with specific skills. I am flexible with using either option or even some of both.

For online tutoring, I use zoom as my main platform. I like to share my screen using books on their level to read together and to work on writing together directly on the screen using the white board feature. I also use the white board feature for math so we can work through problems together and I can see what the students process looks like in real time. Where appropriate, I try to incorporate board games and puzzles to keep sessions engaging and even a little fun.

For in person tutoring, I like to use hands on materials and incorporate games and manipulatives to practice skills. I like to let the students lead how they want to learn and I pick the skills to work on. I typically use board games, blocks, letters, sticky sight words and various levels of books to meet the individual student's needs.
